Excellence in Distribution since 1993

Arthur Stamatis, the founder and CEO of Home Ice Cream, grew up in the perishable food industry. Arthur was based in Richards Bay from 1993. His mission was to become the best perishable food distribution service provider to both the retail and the food service industry in Zululand. His company was soon established as a reliable service provider in the cold chain industry. With this reputation, Arthur diversified into the distribution of ice cream and over the years represented several principal brands in the distribution of their highly perishable ice cream products. This became the foundation for Home Ice Cream.

Over the years of being actively involved in the ice cream industry, Arthur gained extensive knowledge of the industry and its requirements. It became a passion of Arthur’s to understand how ice cream is made and what factors affect its quality, durability and shelf life. He visited a number of different international factories understanding their processes and quality controls.

In December 2011, Home Ice Cream opened it’s own ice cream factory, allowing Home Ice Cream to drive down its costs and increase its flexibility. These cost savings could now be passed onto the consumer.
