MEET ARTHUR
Having grown up in a family retail and distribution business, Arthur Stamatis, moved to Richards Bay in 1993 to open a branch of Adcan Marine. His mission was to become the best perishable food distribution service provider to both the retail and the food service industry in Zululand. Adcan Marine soon established itself as a reliable service provider in the cold chain industry, and with this reputation, Arthur went on to assist several ice cream companies with the distribution of their products.
PASSIONATE ABOUT QUALITY
In 2008 Arthur felt there was a need for a good quality, great value ice cream offering in the general market place. Home Ice Cream launched its own range of ice creams. A new ice cream distribution facility was built in Mount Edgecombe to service the greater Durban area, Pietermaritzburg and extending throughout KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape and Gauteng. In December 2011, Home Ice Cream opened it’s own ice cream factory, allowing Home Ice Cream to drive costs down and increase its flexibility. These cost savings could now be passed onto the consumer.
